FAQ

Booking & Visits
Can I walk in, or do I need an appointment?
Walk-ins are welcome whenever we have availability, but booking ahead is the surest way to get your preferred time. In peak season (and for colour) we recommend reserving in advance through our online booking.
How do I book an appointment at Piccolina Bali?
The fastest way is our online booking via Fresha, linked under “Book Now” on every page, which shows live availability. You can also message us on WhatsApp at +62 812 9664 8674 or email hello@piccolina.co.id, and we’ll help you find a time.
How far in advance should I book a colour appointment?
For colour, we suggest booking at least a few days ahead, and earlier in busy months. Colour services take longer and are popular, so advance booking secures both the time and the right colourist.
Can I request a specific hairstylist?
Yes, you can request a preferred stylist, barber or colourist when you book, subject to their availability. If you’re new, let us know your hair goals and we’ll match you to the right person.
Do you offer consultations before booking?
Yes. A short consultation lets us assess your hair and agree on the right cut, colour or treatment before we begin. It’s recommended before any colour change or correction.
Can tourists and short-term visitors book an appointment?
Of course — we look after locals and travellers alike. Book online or via WhatsApp before you arrive, especially for colour or treatments during your stay.

Haircuts & Styling
Do you offer women’s haircuts in Uluwatu?
Yes — women’s cuts are a core service, from a medium change to a total restyle. Cuts are tailored in a quick consultation and finished with styling.
Do you offer men’s haircuts and beard trims?
Yes. Our barber handles men’s cuts, clipper work, total-change cuts, beard trims and head shaves. Men’s haircuts start from 250K.
Do you cut children’s hair?
Yes, we offer a child cut package (300K). Let us know your child’s age and what you’d like when you book.
Does a haircut include a wash and blow-dry?
Cut-and-blow-dry and combo packages include a wash and finish. À la carte cuts can be booked with or without a wash and blow-dry — just choose the option that suits you when booking.
Do you offer blow-dries, updos and styling for weddings or special occasions?
Yes. We offer blow-dries, straightening and curling, plus updos and event styling for weddings, dinners and big nights out. Updos start from 500K (dry hair), with a wash-and-style package also available — book ahead and bring reference photos if you can, so we can plan the look together.
Can you work with curly, textured or very thick hair?
Yes. Our international team cuts and styles all hair types, including curly, textured and thick hair. Mention your hair type when booking so we allow the right time.
Can I bring reference photos to my appointment?
Please do — reference photos are the best way to show us the result you want. We’ll talk through what will suit your hair in the consultation.
Hair Colour
Do you offer balayage, highlights and ombré in Uluwatu?
Yes, all three, done by our international colourist and finished with toner for a polished result. Balayage and ombré start from 1,100K (above shoulder), with half-head and highlight effects also available — we’ll talk through which suits your hair and the look you’re after.
Can I book root colour or a full-head tint?
Yes. Root colour is 700K and a full-head tint starts from 800K (above shoulder). Longer or thicker hair may sit higher on the scale.
Can you correct colour done at another salon?
Often, yes — colour correction is possible but always starts with a consultation so we can assess your hair’s condition and history and give you a realistic plan and quote.
Can you match or refresh my existing hair colour?
Yes, our colourist can match or refresh your current colour. Bring details of any previous colour or products used so we can get it right.
Is toner included with highlights or balayage?
Yes — balayage, ombré and highlight services are finished with toner so your result looks complete. Standalone toner is also available (from 300K).
How much does hair colour cost at Piccolina Bali?
As a guide: root colour 700K, full-head tint from 800K, balayage & ombré from 1,100K. Pricing steps up with length and thickness — above-shoulder, below-shoulder and very long (50cm+) sit at different points on the scale — and we always confirm your price before starting.
Should I wash my hair before a colour appointment?
Usually it’s best to arrive with day-old, unwashed hair for colour, as natural oils protect the scalp. If you’re unsure, ask us when you book.
How often should I refresh my colour or toner?
As a rough guide, roots every 4–6 weeks and toner every 4–8 weeks, depending on your colour and how quickly it fades. Balayage grows out softly, so it needs less frequent upkeep.
Hair Treatments & Bali Haircare
Do you offer keratin treatments in Uluwatu?
Yes — smoothing keratin for frizz control and easy-to-manage hair. Keratin starts from 1,200K (above shoulder), scaling with length.
Can you help repair hair damaged by dryness, sun, salt water or surfing?
Yes — Bali hair takes a beating from sun, salt and surf, and dry or damaged hair responds well to a tailored mix of Olaplex, Hair Mask Bomba and intensive conditioning. A quick consultation helps us choose the right treatment plan to restore moisture, strength and shine.
Do you offer Olaplex treatments?
Yes. We offer Olaplex stand-alone and express treatments to rebuild and protect the hair, and as an add-on to colour services.
What’s the difference between keratin and Olaplex?
They solve different problems. Keratin is a smoothing treatment that tames frizz and makes hair easier to style, gradually softening over a few months. Olaplex is a bond-builder that repairs and strengthens hair from within — it won’t smooth frizz on its own, but it’s excellent alongside colour or on damaged hair. Many guests combine both for the best of each.
What hair treatment is best for Bali’s humidity?
A smoothing keratin treatment is popular for humidity, taming frizz and making hair easier to manage. For damaged hair, pair it with a reparative treatment plan.
How long does a keratin treatment last?
A keratin treatment typically lasts a few months, gradually softening as it grows out. Using sulfate-free, gentle aftercare helps it last longer.
Can I colour my hair and have a treatment on the same day?
Yes, in many cases — colour paired with an Olaplex or bonding treatment is a common combination. We’ll confirm the best sequence for your hair during your consultation.
Are your treatments suitable for coloured or bleached hair?
Yes — bonding and reparative treatments like Olaplex are especially good for coloured and bleached hair. Tell us your hair history so we tailor the treatment.
The Reset — Massage & Nails
Can I add a massage or manicure to my hair appointment?
Yes — that’s exactly what our Reset add-ons are for. An essential manicure (from 175K) or a short head & shoulder or foot massage fits neatly into the time while your colour or treatment develops, and many guests pair more than one into a single visit.
What types of massage and nail services does Piccolina offer?
Our Reset menu includes a signature foot massage, healing reflexology, a head-to-toe option called the Uluwatu Hiker, and a nourishing creambath — a traditional Indonesian scalp and hair ritual that pairs massage with a nutrient-rich mask. Nail services cover manicures, pedicures and a combo mani + pedi.
How long are the massage and manicure services?
Massages run from 30 to 75 minutes; manicures and pedicures take around 45–60 minutes, and a combo mani + pedi 60–90 minutes.
Are massage and nail services available without a hair appointment?
Yes — massage, reflexology, creambath and manicures/pedicures can all be booked on their own, not only as add-ons.
Pricing & Payment
Where can I see Piccolina Bali’s current prices?
Our full price list is on the Menu page, covering salon, colour, treatments, massage and nails. Prices are current but subject to change.
Are prices quoted in Indonesian rupiah?
Yes — all prices are in IDR. On our menu, “K” means thousand, so 350K = 350,000 rupiah.
Does the final price depend on hair length or thickness?
Yes — for cuts, colour and treatments, price steps up with length and thickness. We always confirm your exact price after a quick look at your hair, before we begin.
Will I receive a price estimate before the service begins?
Yes. After a quick look at your hair we confirm the price up front, so there are no surprises — especially for colour and treatments.
What payment methods do you accept?
We accept major cards, cash and QRIS. Gift cards are redeemable on any hair or Reset service.
Policies
What’s your policy on arriving late, rescheduling or cancelling?
Please arrive on time so we can give you the full service — arriving more than 15 minutes late may mean we shorten or reschedule your appointment to stay on time for the next guest. For rescheduling or cancelling, just give us at least 24 hours’ notice via WhatsApp at +62 812 9664 8674, so we can offer the slot to someone else.
What happens if I’m not happy with my result?
Tell us before you leave — we’d always rather make an adjustment on the spot than have you go home unhappy. If something still doesn’t feel right once you’re home, get in touch within a few days and we’ll talk through the best way to fix it.
Gift Cards
Does Piccolina offer gift cards?
Yes — a Piccolina gift card is an easy way to treat someone to a great cut, colour or Reset. Message us on WhatsApp or check the Gift Cards page for details.
How do I buy or redeem a Piccolina gift card?
Get in touch via WhatsApp or email to arrange purchase, and we’ll issue the card with a unique code. Redeem it on any hair or Reset service — just mention the code when you book or check in.
Trust & The Team
What makes Piccolina different from other hair salons in Uluwatu?
Piccolina is a hair-first studio built around European-standard cutting and colour — meaning structured consultations, technical precision and a finish most local salons skip — plus simple Reset add-ons like massage and manicures. The focus is precise, no-fuss hair you can rely on, with no need to travel down south for professional colour.
Who are Piccolina’s colourist and barber?
Our colourist is internationally trained and in high demand across the island for colour correction, balayage and precision tints. Our barber is a well-travelled Italian with years of experience in men’s cutting, clipper work and beard detailing. Both are happy to talk through your hair goals in a consultation before you book.
Do your stylists have experience with international clients?
Yes. Our international team — including a master barber and an in-demand colourist — looks after locals and travellers from all over, every day.
Do you speak English?
Yes, our international team speaks English, so it’s easy to talk through exactly what you want — and between our colourist, barber and stylists, a few other languages are spoken too.
Is Piccolina an LGBTQ+ friendly salon?
Yes — everyone is welcome at Piccolina. We’re a friendly, inclusive space for the whole Uluwatu community and everyone passing through.
Has Piccolina always been just a hair salon?
Piccolina started out as a hybrid hair salon and wine bar in Uluwatu. We’ve since focused fully on hair, with simple Reset add-ons like massage, reflexology and nails — so if you’ve come across an older write-up mentioning a wine list or bottle shop, that’s no longer part of what we offer today.
